Thank you to the membership for their confidence in nominating me as chairperson of the Good Spirit Regional Economic Authority. The appointment will prove to be a challenge and one that I will enjoy.
Our fiscal year has come to an end and a new one has appeared. The following year will be one of change and opportunity for the REDA. Project development for the region will be a priority. A strategic planning session will be held within the next few months. This planning session will create a vision and an action plan to accomplish economic development within the region. Input by the membership will be required to help accomplish such a plan of action.
Partnerships between communities on projects will also be stressed as it is getting harder to try and sell opportunity by each community. Selling and promoting the assets within the region must be stressed to accomplish regional projects. Currently, member communities are beginning to develop a Regional Waste Management System committee.
