Kamsack

 

Kamsack provides the safety, comfort and atmosphere of a beautiful friendly town with all the services of a large bustling centre.

The area surrounding Kamsack is one of natural beauty, steeped in history and culture, and rich with opportunity. These elements combine to make Kamsack a great place to live and visit.

Kamsack is located at the junction of Highways 5 and 8, and has a population of 2200. The predominant economic activity for the town is agriculture.

The community features such amenities as a hockey rink, curling rink, indoor swimming pool and a golf course. There is a hospital, nursing home and full emergency services (ambulance, fire protection and a R.C.M.P detachment).

The community is also the gateway to Duck Mountain Provincial Park, a beautiful wildlife setting with abundant lakes, trails, and camping areas.

  • There are two schools, a kindergarten to grade 4, and a grade 5 to grade 12 school. Continuing education is available through the Parkland Regional College.


  • Mill rate: municipal 33.183, education 21.618.


  • Water and sewer rates are $44 every two months for residential water and garbage collection. Commercial basic rate is a minimum $30 for every two months, depends on requirements.


  • The average price of existing homes is $45,000 to $50,000, with houses available anywhere from $20,000 to well over $100,000.


  • Commercial land and building owned by the town are available, and the cost of these is negotiable.


  • The municipality offers tax incentives to prospective residential and commercial new development.
