Grass lands supporting community pastures and habitat for wildlife, highly productive clay loam producing a wide variety of crops, and the proximity to the Good Spirit Provincial Park makes a very pleasant and comfortable lifestyle to those living in the Good Lake rural municipality.

The RM of Good Lake is home to 723 people.

Students from the area are bused into the Canora and Yorkdale School Divisions.

The local tax rate is 14 municipal mills, plus the education portion which ranges from 20.25 to 21.5 mills.
