The current population is 453. The main economic activity is agriculture.

One of the amenities in the RM is the resort hamlet of Crystal Lake, a picturesque lakeside community.

The students in the RM are bused to the Kamsack, Crystal Lake and Norquay School Divisions for K to grade 12 education. The mill rate is 18 mills for municipal, and 19 to 21.5 mills for education, depending on the school division.

The municipality offers emergency services to the entire RM of Keys.
